The symposium on 1-3 July 2012 is the first symposium of the „International Society for Architecture and Philosophy“.

The Society was founded in December 2010. It addresses the interface between both scientific disciplines. The intention of the Society as a network is to enhance research at the interface between architecture and philosophy. The symposium aims at initiating an active research community for this field, first of all on German/French terrain, but furthermore on international terrain. Theoreticians (philosophers, historians of art, aestheticians and theoreticians in architecture) and specialists in the practical field of architecture will participate in the symposium. Early stage researchers and professional peers will raise two basic topics in a variety of lectures and architectural projects : reflections on the position of architecture in and for aesthetics as well as reflections on spatial perception and construction.
